Children’s Dental Checkups & Teeth Cleanings
Routine checkups and cleanings not only allow our team to protect your child from cavities and gum disease, but they also give us a chance to make sure their teeth and jaws are developing correctly. If we spot an issue, we’ll be able to address it early before it can cause serious problems down the line. We’ll also take time during these appointments to talk with you and your child about the best ways to take care of their smile so they can form healthy habits that will serve them well into adulthood.

Dental Sealants
While a child is still learning to brush their teeth, they are at a very high risk of developing cavities, particularly on the chewing surfaces of their back teeth. Their rough and grooved surfaces easily trap plaque and bacteria that can turn into decay, and they are tricky to clean for little hands as well. Using a thin layer of composite resin, we can literally seal off this area of the teeth to keep them protected. Applying sealants only takes a few minutes, but they can provide up to a decade’s worth of round the clock cavity prevention.

Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride has been shown to not only strengthen enamel but also repair areas of minor damage that are at risk of turning into a cavity. That’s why you’ll often find it added to toothpaste and mouthwash. To give your child an extra boost of protection, we can apply a highly-concentrated fluoride varnish to their teeth for a minute or so at their next checkup. This treatment is fast, painless, and one of the best ways to keep their teeth healthy between appointments.

Mouthguards / Sportsguards
Do you have a future sports star at home? Make sure their smile stays safe on the field, mat, or court by having them wear a protective mouthguard every time they play. At NeoSmile Dental Care, we can provide young athletes with custom-made mouthguards that are specifically designed to fit over their unique teeth. This not only makes them more comfortable compared to store bought guards, but they also provide better defense against sudden impacts as well, keeping the teeth, gums, and lips safe from injury.
